Prins Thomas III Album review

III is a new album by Norwegian producer Pins Thomas. The released date is scheduled for the 28th of April 2014 check out the Exclusive Premier on HypeMachine.

III starts with some smooth laidback breaks, this album is a nice complement to the holiday season, it will surely take you on a journey.  If your curious as to why Thomas is the renowned prince of ‘space disco’, do yourself the favour and check out III. The tracks are layered and unpredictable, with digestible tones and infused with some nice thick base notes, guitars and beat loops – yes please.

Let III take you on the disco trip and propel you with its beat, the opening track of the album Hans Majestic is infused with some bells and Middle Eastern inspired ramblings. Track 2 Arabisk Natt (Dub) will pick you up and take you to the other side. Track 4 2000 Lysar Fra Morellveien builds to a progressive peak, leading the listener into rhythm spasms and motivating you want to leap out of the stables.  Track 6 Kavalar is reminiscent of Wawa guitars from The Cure era with sweet percussion to sooth the tone. Track 7 Luftspeiling is infused ambient clouds and builds to propel the listener into a place of heightened trance. At this mid way point III will slide you off into dreamland, enhanced in the dream-state floating off nicely to that holiday like place. My highlights are track 8 Oase and 11 Apne Slusa, are III’s ultimate dream filled trip and boogie central tracks.

III is serious and individual but there’s a light and coolness that’s refreshing.  III positions Prins Thomas as a beat producer to be reckoned with. In closing III is a trip for the disco lover, embodying a sound that’s unique, fresh and relevant. Daytrotter Session (SXSW 2011)

Daytrotter Session (SXSW 2011) Sharing the sound, goodness me soundcloud comes through with the goods. All of a sudden you just stumble over something that you were not expecting to find. To me this is like trying a new food and the taste hits you in a way that is hard to describe.

I'm going to check out Field and find out a bit more about Daytrotter. Sean Moeller, according to his Twitter tweets Daytrotter in 2006 is now his thing. There's an impressive bevy of artist, releasing tracks as part of the Daytrotter sound. It's very cool, check of Daytrotter session from last years South by Southwest.

School of Seven Bells - The Night

School of Seven Bells - The Night Here is a track from School of Seven Bells. I am into this this outfits sound and discovered them from a track listing that found on the skull cave RRR community radio Melbourne. I don't know a lot about this outfit but I like their soundscape hipster feel.

I had just picked up in Beat magazine music street street press that School of Seven Bells is heading to Melbourne for some shows in June from New York. In the line up is Benjamin Curtis who also happens to be a total spunk, so that in its self is enough to motive one to get off the couch and check out their show.
